STATEMENT

 

Trabajo a partir de la pregunta sobre qué merece volverse imagen pictórica. Invento circunstancias, dispositivos y juegos que me generen coartadas para pintar y hacer videos. Tomo experiencias que todo el mundo pudo haber tenido, que no son artísticas de por sí para resignificarlas y volverlas obra. El arte provoca el desvío de la mirada de lo que está señalado hacia otros lugares, que pueden parecer intrascendentes. Creo que cada uno es artífice de sus experiencias estéticas, su propio encargado de dónde posar la mirada. Mis últimos trabajos son proyectos a partir de investigaciones desde el cuerpo (la posición horizontal y la visión) indagando sobre los límites del arte y lo terapéutico.

My work is based in the question about what deserves to become a pictoric image. I propose (myself and others) circumstances, devices and games that generate alibis for painting and making videos. I take experiences that everyone could have had, which are not artistic (per se) to resignify them and make art works. Art provokes the deviation of the gaze from what is pointed to other places. I believe that each one is the architect of their aesthetic experiences, each one is in charge of where to set their gaze. 

My latest works are projects based on research from the body (the horizontal position and the vision) inquiring the limits of art and the therapeutic fields.
